Whatever happened to The Long March of General Tso?

    By Jennifer 8. Lee | June 14, 2007

If you are here, you will notice that my book on Chinese food is no longer called The Long March of General Tso, as reported previously.

Many people are sad about this, I among them. This brilliant title was conceived by my colleague Michael Luo. But the logic by my editor was this: If you already know the book is on Chinese food, then you will think it is incredibly witty. But if you saw it in a book store though, would you think it’s about Qing dynasty military strategy?

The current title is more descriptive of the book’s current contents. Fear not. Mike’s clever title will live on as a chapter title, where I go find General Tso’s family in Hunan China.
